Inspiration

I moved to Austin about three years ago now and this city is fantastic and about one of the most wonderful places to be young and single. In the last three years the entire skyline has changed with new condo developments popping up all over the place and the downtown area becoming more and more active. I have always been fortunate enough to live very close to the city center and even to enjoy some of the more flavorful neighborhoods.

This said, about 2 years ago now, I was living on South Congress Ave. (SoCo) and up popped an adorable airstream trailer with a three foot bright pink cupcake on the roof, in a parking lot across from the main drag. This was hey cupcake!, and little did I know the oversize confection was just one of the many food carts that would pop up all over Austin offering a wide variety of fare that can suit any number of tastes and desires.

I'm no longer on South Congress and now there are trailers serving up everything from falafel to grilled cheese to frozen bananas.

I hope you all get out and get a chance to try some of these finds.
